Aug 12, 10 03:30 pm — Greetings to the elder Madvillians who remember this old fart. I am still kicking. After a small part time job maintaining a website for a local publication and 15 months of collecting unemployment I finally broke down and took a job at a, wait for it, call center. Big building with 100's of employees in multiple depts. When you can't get what you want, take what you can get. Three weeks of training and I'm into my 1st real week of work. I take inbound calls and then try to sell people company services. Money's not great but bonuses and advancement can be had. Hours are whack, 2-10pm but that shift is M-F only. After 33 years the wife still loves me and with opposing schedules neither of us are liking it. But, it is a job.

Still involved with things in my community, working of a fundraiser for the museum coming up next week, that's been fun. I've had a couple side gigs as MC/DJ at car shows, if I could do one of those every weekend I'd be a happy man.
