Jun 24, 11 03:12 pm — ...thinking this morning about trumpets, which led to curiosity about piccolo trumpets. Which led me to wonder what songs I knew that were played on piccolo trumpets. Which led me to wonder what that song was from the Sunday morning Charles Kuralt show. Which led me to find Reiche Abblasen Fanfare on Baroque Trumpet. Which was pretty cool. But also which was later played for the show by Wynton Marsalis and Doc Severenson. Which led me to wondering if Doc was still around. Apparently he is, which led me to curiousity about music in his family. Which led me find some stuff by his grandaughter's band. Which was not too bad.

I think it was the one that goes, "Hey hey we're the Monkeys..." or something like that.

It was obviously Rock Around The Clock. Or maybe Disco Inferno by The Trammps.

Nope. Had to be by the Beatles. And the answer is:

Penny Lane

And the secret proxy bonus goes back into the vault. :)

You're right, I didn't know it, but I did guess correctly. Also did not know it was a piccolo trumpet - my guess was based on Penny Lane being the only Beatle's song I could recall with any cool trumpety part that didn't sound too trumpety.

When the word "yet" is found in a sentence it means "up to a particular time" or "thus far".

For example:

Z3 hasn't banned Gramps yet.

Got it?
