Jul 24, 11 06:44 pm — A new (to you) game's novelty can tarnish after a few plays. So, given one week to tarnish the memory, what games do you recall with pleasure, satisfaction, (insert other postitive feeling)? And why?

To get the topic rolling...

The one that surfaces for me was submitted by harleyx a few weeks back:

Rebuild

I enjoy building/strategy games. I'm still working on the "why" part, although it has something to do with the pleasure of achieving small improvements on the way to a tangible final goal.

I have invested a whole lot of time into Castaway II, but I can't seem to find any of the gates, so I have about 70,000 in gold but nothing to buy and nowhere to go.

I meant to say Keys to the Gates. A big part of the game is on the other side of the 'Western Gate' but I can't find the key for it.

Done! Wow...some time into that one.

Not too bad, only a couple of little hangups during game play. Sometimes the cursor keys seemed to get locked, and had to hit the wsdf keys to break out.

Nice one.

Zem submitted "this is the only level 2" over a year ago. It's a love/hate thing, though.

Not the best game of all time, but... the game that brought me to Madville - Battleship!

This one is also a classic - Spikey's Bounce Around

Great blog!

Thanks Zem. I'm trying to find the cream of the crop, and now I'm a bit overwhelmed...but in a good way. :)

I want to respond to everybody on here, but the very nature of this thread is distracting me to the games.

I like tower defense and strategy games. Like you crabbs, I enjoy games that let you build up skills/powers/weapons as you progress through the game to the final when you are all built up and bad ass. A list of my recent favorites:

Cursed Treasures: Level Pack

Villainous

Frontline Defense 2

And perhaps one of the funnest old school games IMHO:

The Impossible Quiz

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.
