He got the last injection in prison he was going to get.

Where's a good old fashioned firing squad when you need one...and I mean old fashioned...let's use muskets, it takes longer to die from the blood loss.
hmmm...why dont any of these replies surprise me?
Because they're as fucking moronic as 'governor' Swarchenegger - What ?........an eye for an eye is the American bible once again ruling yank policy ?
wait 20 years for a man to redeem himself and then kill him.............. America is the biggest criminal, destructive force on earth and Britain is the yapping poodle being led behind - Right wing Austrian rules California.................un-fucking believable .
but isnt it great that charles manson is up for parole in '07? he was on death row, but they commuted his sentence to life in prison with opportunity for parole. god, i love america! ::grin::
did you know that charles manson was sentenced in the 70s durring the repeal of the death sentence, they will let him rot untill he dies
Yes and OJ Simpson can just murder people and Michael Jackson can fuck little kids, ain't America grand.
See, America is racist. They'd never let white people get away with shit like that!
If it was an eye for an eye, we would have to round up some of Tookie's family to pay the fiddler.
This is about the value of life and if your willing to take someone's life (not for self-defense) than you should be willing to fry. He killed several people and he was not the model prisoner either, no matter what books he wrote or awards he won after the fact.
This is a sad day. This man truly did turn his life around while in prison. He didn't deserve to die.
Fuck him, you don't know what the hell you are talking about. Just because he wrote some childrens' books he is all of the sudden a good person? That piece of shit deserves to burn in hell for what he did.

'deserves to burn in hell '
U fucking Tit ! lol
Who are you to judge that?
Don't fret about it.
'Don't fret about it.'

Don't edit my liberal opinions
Do you hear voices?
Not so much these days, got a good meds combo::grin::
Ummmmm I don't think so.
Reply to Grit89: Don't edit my liberal opinions

Your opinion wasn't edited, your one hundred and sixty seven periods were. They made viewing the comment page an eyesore.
Aah ok , sorry, I misunderstood - Apparently there is no redemption(see below) but I apologize anyway.
Real good read IMHO..
A Mute, But Unquiet, Exit for Williams
Bravo for Arnie. If Tookie turned into such a great guy and went to efforts to tell kids not to get involved in gangs this is a just end. His last message to potential gang bangers was the ultilate payoff. He killed, he dies for it.
I only wish they were using the human blender. In-humane? That's what his victims thought, too, I bet.
My work-study student who happens to be black thinks he got what he deserved because he was instrumental in bringing the Crips into the schools and ruining the lives of so many young black kids.
okay, who broke the thread?
I think we could all take a pretty good guess.
You shall be judged by your past actions. There is no redemption.
Yes, cuz in the US, we only have the Old Testament! :)
Yes. As often as possible.
Remember, people will judge you by your actions, not your intentions. You may have a heart of gold but so does a hard-boiled egg.
Not according to the pawn shop around the corner
What did you porn..I mean pawn?
::grin::
I tried to pawn a hard boiled egg, but they said it wasn't made of gold
That's the same thing they told me when I tried to pawn my heart.
They said the same thing to me, claimed there was no market for pure evil! I pointed out that RJ Reynolds and Haliburton are doing just fine.
So few things in life are pure. I know a guy who knows a guy who will pay you $5 for it.
Only $5? I guess he's a pure cheapskate.
Hey, that's twice the going rate! You should be jumping at it. Higher. C'mon, you can jump higher than that.
I'm holding out for $8 and a bottle of merlot.
I'll need to see your ID.

I know I don't agree with you often, but I do agree with you this time.
If we let killers become "reformed", "reborn", or "rewhatever", that just gives people the false idea that they can go kill someone, then not have to answer for their crimes because "they found the light". If we don't have capital punishment, what will deter people from doing these crimes?
Capital punishment is not a deterrent. It violates the tenants of deterrence theory.
Then what would you do with murders? We'll be sending them to live with you and your family. That should be punishment enough
I'd rather sit in a prison cell watching TV and excercising than be killed. It'd deter me
I understand your emotions on this subject, but capital punishment (which I see as state sponsored murder) does nothing to deter killings .
The majority of murders, however horrific and shocking aren't pre-meditated and are usually a result of loss of control - To execute is to be not much better humanitarily than the man you kill.
Homicide rates have been found to be greater in countries that use the death penalty than those which don't . In an analysis of selected countries, five countries with the highest murder rates that do not execute averaged a rate of 11.6 murders per 100,000 persons. The five countries who do execute with the highest homicide rate averaged a rate of 41.6 murders per 100,000 persons] - In other words, countries that have capital punishment appear to have higher murder rates than those countries that do not have capital punishment. - These are facts which have been stated again and again , they answer your question. If you accept them and still demand death , then we're just talking about revenge !
The majority of murders, however horrific and shocking aren't pre-meditated
Murder in it's most pure form is, by definition, premeditated.
You can start getting into second degree, third degree etc. However I believe the death penalty is rarely applied in this cases.
Just pointing out that the deterrent argument is fallacious does not mean "release them on their own recognizance." Were you under the impression that it did, or are your middle fingers slipping on the keyboard?
We have plenty of people in TX that weren't deterred, and we are the death-penalty capital of the world. :)
But seriously, deterrence requires specific things, and the death penalty simply doesn't meet the criteria. That doesn't mean that there shouldn't be a death penalty, just that the deterrent argument doesn't hold water.
We were looking over the TX death row convictions last night. Many, if not most (you can check on line if you want), seemed to be crimes of passion, not premeditated murders. Many were dumbass rednecks who went on a bender and killed their girlfiends in a alcohol/drug-induced rage.

'Murder in its most pure form'........ - with respect, that doesn't exist !
There is no pure form of murder, just degrees of culpability.
This is perhaps the heaviest , most awful subject to discuss and I am trying to avoid trite statements and arrogance of any kind.
Back to the thread,...... killing someone in retribution (there is no other excuse) is a misguided attempt at appeasing the anger and sense of loss. If someone I loved was brutally killed, I would want to kill the perpetrator myself, but we have emotional distance in the courts for exactly that reason.
The death penalty is a foul anachronism.
Murder is distinct from other forms of homicide. Murder is, succinctly, the premeditated killing of another human being. Pure form equates to the true meaning of the word. Other "degrees" of murder, simply aren't murder.
Other crimes that fall under the homicide banner pale in comparison. Rage, passion, it's all the same, it's spur of the moment stuff.
Take road deaths as a flipped example. Some kid walks out in front of my car (travelling at the speed limit) and I hit it, killing it instantly. Who would be before judge and jury? Me, or the irresponsible parent? Would that be a murder in your view? Should I fry?
I agree that the death penalty is a relic from more brutal times (I'm British, we don't do that shit here), If you compare the US to every other country in the world, you guys have more in common with the third world than with Europe in terms of your love of firearms and violent justice.
(I love beer. I reserve the right to edit this post in the morning, especially if I discover my point)
Murder and accidental death , yeah - they're two different things , 'succinctly' put - If someone falls on your head whilst jumping of a hotel roof and dies ...... you probably won't be held responsible.
I'm also British ,love beer in large quantities and also reserve the right to deny whatever the fuck I did last night........
Glad we understand each other::grin::
I think whether capital punishment is enforced or not should be left up to the family of the victims.
Maybe, but in that case are we looking for justice or vengeance?
Oh Noes!
Another Brit???? Is Madville big enough for two of you??
...Stay tuned as the saga continues on Days Of Our Madville
/shushes Kali and Nutz
Have you read any of the interviews of the victims families?
There were lots of innocents whose families will never be the same because of this guy.
It's a British invasion I'm tellin' ya!
lolol
Wear them proud! ::grin::
But are we not then abetting a sin?
Maybe you are, I'm not.
If we don't execute these killers what do you want to do with them? Put them in jail? Why do we want to put them in jail? To remove them from society of course. Then lets just remove them from society all together by executing them. Do you want to release them into the population or do we have to pay for their housing and medical needs for the next who knows how many years/decades?
You want to use execution as a deterant? Then lets knock off the lethal injection shit and do it in the most painful manners possible, like the Human Blender or slowly lowering them into vats of hot oil. A lot of people aren't afraid of dying but a painful, agonizing death, now that's going to get your attention.
And don't even get me started on the insanity plea. If you kill because you are insane isn't that even more reason to remove your name from the roles of the living?
seanmc42
Yeah!!!
Final score: Governator : 1, Tookie : 0
Good riddance to the murderous piece of crap!
