Cataract Surgery on second eye! Can't wait to be able to see well with both eyes again!
I also wish you good luck and health! I actually have to have cataract surgery on one (possibly both) eyes. How is the surgery itself? Are you completely knocked out, or are you awake like LASIK? How long is the recovery?
Well they do give you something to "relax" you, and then eye drops to numb, dilate and immobilize the eye! The actual operation took less than twenty minutes, in and out of the place in about 2 hours! Had better distance vision in that eye on the way out the door than I've had in years! Absolutely no pain or discomfort at any time! My vision is now as good as when I was on the YSU Rifle team at age 18, 20/10 is excellent! Now just have to get used to my trifocals working again like they are supposed to, for the last 8 months or so I've grown used to just using the top for everything! Best of Luck and don't put it off if you need it! If you are not grossly near-sighted like me you can even get the crytalens that works with your eye muscles so you probably wont need glasses unless you have bad astigmatism like I do!
Unfortunately, I am grossly near-sighted and I have astigmatism in both eyes. I'm basically legally blind without contacts or glasses. My doctor is still recommending I wait to see if a cataract develops in the other eye (exposure to toxic chemicals - long story).
Seems we do have some things in common after all! I can see about 4 inches without glasses in the eye that is getting operated on Wed., the other was just as bad before! Once lost my glasses to a wave at Virginia Beach and the Kids had to lead my by the hand back to the RV to get my spare pair! Couldn't see well enough to cross the road by myself!
