Ron Paul would have done this the first few months he was in office .. for sure the Republicans would have done so as well .. with Obama .. it is just words at this point .. let's see if he actually does it.

Right now with much of his 'agenda' he has added burdens and taxes to the small business owner.

It the economy Stupid

There would be no business at this point if Bush's policies were still in effect. It would have gone down the tubes along with everything else in Great Depression II.

The fact that there is an economy at all is a miracle. Say what you will about hypothetical Administrations of other candidates, but Obama is the real president (apologies to you psychotic Birthers) and he has to deal with the real fallout of the disastrous Bush Administration.

His agenda so far has been to keep our collective heads above water and the fact that he has done so is a testament to the fact that he is on the right tract.

Bush started his presidency with disaster and ended it with a different disaster, with more stupidity and disaster in between. The fact that we have any Recovery at all is proof that we are now moving in a different (and better) direction.

T, I like that would have, should have, could have but Obama must be a liar thing... Kinda interesting as to the way you see the world and the way you judge groups of people. Seems some people can do alot, and get no credit at all. Some people can do nothing and be your savior.

Gramps, there is no recovery if we pretend and complain hard enough!

How do you know there would be no business? Pure speculation .. you're listening to advice from Paulsen and other such Wall Street thieves and puppeteers. The same scenario could have played out with NO bailouts to Wall Street, bankers and foreign markets .. no trillion and half more bailouts and the economy, banks, businesses and self correcting capitalism would have taken care of this mess by itself .. without govts interfering and meddling guidance. We are still on the brink of disaster .. no bullets were bitten, unemployment is still high, the govt is still bailing out states who are on the brink of bakrupcey.

The same GS and Wall street puppeteers who were giving GW advice are the same clowns who are giving Obama advice .. if you haven't figured that out then that is a testament on how the truth is buried in the MSM.

Of course there is the possibility that business could have recovered without bailouts, but it is pretty darn certain that it would have taken years, and maybe many years, before that recovery could kick in.

In the meantime, whatever money the government could scrape up would have to be used for soup kitchens for those unemployed by businesses and for those homeless due to banking crisis.

And yes it is true that Obama's team is composed of people who were part of the problem under Bush, but what you are recommending as a remedy sounds exactly like Bush policy to me, let businesses govern themselves.

I don't think the same formula that got us into this mess, and the BP oil spill and the rotten egg mess, is the best way to get us out of it.

Every dumbass Teabagger's message, when you strip out the xenophobia and whatever conspiracy nonsense they are spewing, seem to have the George W Bush economic program in mind. Excuse me if I want to pass on more of that.

What a bunch of BS! The Government can't fix the economy by increasing taxes and wasteful spending. The Subprime mortgage and excessive government spending are the key to the economy collapse. Obama could have saved us all by reducing government size and start paying down the debit that they have saddled us with.

Don't these idiots know that Bush tax breaks are what caused this whole depression in the first place???? Tax increases are what are needed to stimulate western economies to create trickle up poverty.

A state is better governed which has but few laws, and those laws strictly observed. Some really wacky neocon named R. Decartes
