Okay, let's do a little thought experiment, shall we? The companies that do mining and energy exploration, on the deep floor of the Gulf, in the Alaska wilderness, and so on, they want a world free of US government oversight and regulation.
Let's try that out on the nation's airlines first to see how it works out. No cumbersome heavy handed TSA checking to see if you have a water bottle with you or more than 3 ounces of anything, just let everyone on every plane without security of any kind. It would save a ton of dough and help to balance the budget.
If we can trust BP to drill without regulations then why not let anyone who pays for a ticket on any plane?
We may lose a few planes to some bad apples but think of the tax dollars saved. If it works, we can tell BP to drill anywhere and don't sweat the safety gear, we trust you to make the right decisions.

I did notice that you actually posted something last week though that was not political in nature - kudos for that.
The Main stream repubs did initiate the Patriot act and endorsed wholeheartedly by most democrats as well .. and it has been growing for years and years .. and if I do remember correctly, Gramps was screaming about it then, now .. since their is a democrat in the WH and the dems have ruled the roost for the past three years ... it is still all the repubs and GW's fault. And recently it is the Tea Partys fault.
It is very hard to tell the two party's apart on most issues.
I read an interesting quote yesterday .. from Obama's cousin .. who is a Doctor The Tea Party movement exists, I told them, not because of the Democrats. We know who they are, with their tax increases, endless spending and Washington-knows-best takeovers. No, the Tea Parties exist because of the failures of the Republican Party. We were supposed to be the ones Americans could trust.

I wouldn't like the airport screening if it came about under Bush, and I don't like it any better because Obama is president. Makes no difference to me either way.
I think it stinks, I think it sucks, but I really never even got far enough into this part of it to comment about it.
I do think that if it came about under Bush, the Lemmings and the Loyal Bushies would be screaming at us about what do we have to hide, and other such nonsense. Look at how enthusiastic they were about Bush's bad ideas and you can see that they would love this one.
