If I were a bazillionaire, I would have so outbid that dude.
John Audubon would kill the bird and then do artwork on them. I guess they couldn't get any birds that were good models .. so when they said hold still they didn't listen to well .. hence he killed the little critters.
Today his name and the Audubon society are linked with conservation .. back in the day though .. bang .. bang - things were different though,
