Sad. This will encourage racism as only illegal aliens will be indefinitely jailed. I don't know how out of state illegal aliens that get in-state tuition will be be handled. But we are encouraging BO to put in another disclaimer to allow them, and non-citizen minorities, females and LGBT to vote progressive, however.

Give a man a fish and he will become a government dependent progressive voter. Teach a man to fish and he become a self sufficient and conservative Angel of Satan. Biden 3:24

"breaking with the stroke of a pen one of his many campaign promises"

Pretty sure there is a long list of broken pledges. I don't understand how anyone can trust this guy.

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Again, Big T, where do you think this terrible Bill came from?

From Congress, of course, which gave the president this hand grenade to sign.

If he didn't he would be soft on defense, since this was tacked onto the defense spending Bill.

If he did sign it, they could jump on him for signing a terrible Bill that they wrote and passed for him.

Perhaps a more skillful politician could have handled this better, but don't the cynics in Congress have any responsibility for passing this abomination?

No, seriously ML, this issue is being treated in the media as something the White House created, which it is not.

This is a critter of Congress, which created this it as a club with which to beat the president about the head and shoulders.

It should be seen for what it is, a partisan trick that Mr Obama is not skillful enough to sling back at those who tossed it to him.

I know. Its just so tiring, as is the usual dialogue here on these subjects. I have to laugh to keep from screaming. Lately, my laughter sounds a lot like screaming.

I would applaud any president of any party who told congress to go scratch on this and apologized to the military for the hassle, but applauded them for putting up with this as one more battle that needs to be fought for freedom.

IN reality, he signs it because it expands the powers of the executive office without accountability, which has pretty much been job #1 from both parties since nixon.

I don't disagree with you raz, and as I said a better politician would have found a way to get around the no-win scenario that Congress put the president in.

Clinton would have Slick Willied his way out of this somehow and George W wouldn't have taken this kind of crap from Congress no matter which Party was in charge.

Given the nature of the world as it exists now, you have to know that the conservative media was ready to pounce no matter which way Obama went on this. Heads he is busting the Bill of Rights, tails he is showing his hatred for the military by holding them hostage. Evidence for this is how quickly the "Bill of Rights is Dead" story got out before the ink was dry on the Bill. I am willing to bet they were ready with guns blazing if he had gone the other way as well.

The Birther issue should show you how far some people are willing to go to smear this guy.

More then the media, a few people would be pouncing and beating the point to death no matter which way he went.

I wouldnt say i am overly happy with any of them, but i am also not dumb enough to sit here and bash one constantly and put all the blame there. Thats just immature, and the people who do that far more partisan and biased then most others so in the end whatever kind of view they have tainted.. Also, when they want to argue another way they will be sure to point out how its everyone not just the person they support. Seems i remember people standing up for some things Bush did and saying, nooo its not his fault..

People are morons with little backbone to stand up for what they say in the past on the net.. Others just get out right angry over it "How dare you bring up things i have said in the past!!" I would say its more anger at pointing out some individuals hypocrisy and agenda then anything.. Also, those same people who complain so much about it are not afraid to do the same to others.. "Well, look what this man said once!" Shame more people cant live up to what they say, and not just politicians but everyday people also.

There are three branches in the US government. You can vote for your representatives. How did your representatives vote? We know that Obama signed it.

Obama did not have to sign this bill .. he said he wasn't going too - but he did, for whatever the real reason.

Below are the links to who voted for this bill.

My democrat congressional rep .. who I voted for many times .. voted no.

My two democrat senators voted Yes .. I did not vote for these people.
