Obama is a mess. As a president, he hasn't taken the right step forward to move us forward. I believe that Gingrich has the confidence and determination that Obama lacks to move us in a positive direction.
That may be so, I mean the part about Gingrich having the confidence and determination, but the cold hard fact is that Gingrich is unelectable. Probably a majority of his own Party hate his guts for any number of reasons.
Clinton-haters in the GOP hate him even more for being more Clintonian in his behavior than Clinton himself. If it all depends of what the meaning of "is" is, then Newt is right there, parsing words with the best of them.
Personally, I see Gingrich as I have always seen him, as Bill Clinton's evil twin, just as smart, just as ambitious, but long gone over to the Dark Side of fucking people over and burning bridges.
Consider that he was one of the Prime Movers of the Clinton Impeachment, while, as Speaker, having an extramarital affair at the same time; cheating on wife #2 with future wife #3. It takes a certain kind of person who is willing to prosecute a person for doing what he himself is doing at the same time
Newt is that man.

I didn't listen to the speech, because I already know that, like Mr Obama, Mr Gingrich is a very smart man who is good at speechifying.
The reason I am not paying attention to him as a candidate because his ideas for fixing the economy sound very much to me like the policies that allowed the economy to tank in 2008.
And how can someone who despises Obama for coddling the banking industry possibly vote for Newt, who is in the pocket of Wall Street as least as much as the president and has been for a far longer period of time?
Or maybe you are one of those people who claim that Obama is the most anti-banking presidents in US history.
I can never distinguish between those two groups.
