Other than trying to fed one's ego by showing how rich you are a very large home is actually more uncomfortable. Most people will find that they will only use a few rooms in there home. The rest is waste. And from a psychological point of view all of that space in a large house will make most people uncomfortable. I would rather have a home that I feel comfortable in than one to impress people with.
